Traditional Unionist Voice (TUV) have announced they will stand two candidates in North Antrim in next year’s Assembly election.
Timothy Gaston, who replaced Jim Allister when he was elected to Westminster, will be joined by Kirk Wilson on the ticket in North Antrim.
The party say they are “pushing to win the Alliance seat for unionism.”
“With TUV now the strongest unionist party in the constituency, the path to winning four seats is by voting TUV 1 & 2 and then giving further preferences to the other unionist candidates. Full and disciplined use of transfers, by all unionists voting for all unionist candidates, is the way to victory,” the party said on Tuesday.
In putting myself before the electorate I do so on the basis of my record in Stormont as your strong voice. When others have ducked the hard issues, I’ve been the dependable voice to stand up and speak out against wokery and the aggressive Sinn Fein agenda. I wasn’t sent to Stormont to be silent, nor to prop up the establishment, but as a strong voice in defence of unionism and in promotion of my constituents’ interests. In that I believe I have been faithful and hardworking throughout the constituency. I’m very happy to be judged on my record of standing up for North Antrim.
– Timothy Gaston MLA
It is a great honour to have the opportunity to stand for TUV in North Antrim. With my family embedded in North Antrim for generations it would be an immense privilege to represent in Stormont my local community, alongside our remarkable sitting MLA, Timothy Gaston. I believe we would be a great team for North Antrim, speaking truth to power and holding the failing institutions to account. It’s time for unionism to assert itself. There is no more tangible way of doing that than North Antrim returning two TUV MLAs to Stormont.
– Kirk Wilson
In 2022, North Antrim elected one MLA each from the UUP, Sinn Fein, TUV, DUP and Alliance.

TUV are the first party to announce their candidates in North Antrim.
