Retired Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) superintendent Jon Burrows has been co-opted to replace Colin Crawford as the Ulster Unionist Party’s MLA in North Antrim, after he resigned less than a year after being appointed.

Ulster Unionist Party (UUP) MLA for North Antrim, Colin Crawford, has announced he is to resign from his position at Stormont, saying “the time has come for me to step away from politics.” The MLA was at the centre of a row in the UUP after he was chosen to replace Robin Swann.

The Traditional Unionist Voice (TUV) party has announced that Councillor Timothy Gaston has been co-opted to the Northern Ireland Assembly to replace Jim Allister, who was elected to Westminster in the general election.

The Ulster Unionist Party have selected Cllr Colin Crawford to replace Robin Swann as MLA for North Antrim, after he was elected as a Member of Parliament in the general election.

The Alliance Party has selected Sian Mulholland MLA as their candidate for North Antrim in the upcoming general election; a seat currently held by the Democratic Unionist Party with a 12k majority.
