Keith Elliot has stepped down as an Ennsikillen councillor after eleven years service. The Democratic Unionist Party (DUP) has selected Aaron Elliot to take the seat on Fermanagh and Omagh District Council.

The Education Minister has acknowledged that almost three in ten, or 28%, of pupils are not achieving the expected levels of literacy and numeracy by the time they leave primary school. New literacy guidance for schools will be issued, supported by a targeted programme of teacher professional learning, the Minister said.
