Sian Mulholland selected as Alliance’s general election candidate in North Antrim

The Alliance Party has selected Sian Mulholland MLA as their candidate for North Antrim in the upcoming general election; a seat currently held by the Democratic Unionist Party with a 12k majority.

The Alliance Party has selected Sian Mulholland as their North Antrim candidate for the upcoming general election.

Mulholland has been a Member of the Legislative Assembly since April 2023 when she was co-opted following the resignation of Patricia O’Lynn.

North Antrim has been held by the Democratic Unionist Party (DUP) since 1974 when Ian Paisley was elected. It has been held by Ian Paisley Jr since 2010.

In the 2019 general election, the Alliance Party came behind the DUP and the Ulster Unionists. The DUP held the seat with a majority of almost 13,000.

Commenting on her selection, Sian Mulholland MLA said, “Very proud to have the support and endorsement from my North Antrim Association and the party to run in the next Westminster Election. Let’s go!”

No other parties have announced any candidates for North Antrim as of yet.
