Alliance MLA Danny Donnelly to contest Westminster election in East Antrim

Danny Donnelly has been an MLA for East Antrim since 2022, and ran in the 2019 general election, failing to get elected but he came second with the DUP holding the seat.

Alliance MLA Danny Donnelly will contest the upcoming general election in East Antrim.

Donnelly was first elected to the Northern Ireland Assembly in the 2022 election.

He contested the 2019 general election for Alliance and came second – behind the DUP‘s Sammy Wilson, who currently holds the seat.

Commenting on his selection, Donnelly said: “Delighted to have been selected as Alliance’s candidate for East Antrim in the up-coming general election.”

“My politics are positive and progressive and if elected I will work hard for everyone in the area.”

No other parties have confirmed any candidates for East Antrim as of yet.
