Following his exit from party politics, Stephen Farry is taking on a new role at Ulster University, leading their new Strategic Policy Unit with Jodie Carson. The former minister announced in September that he would step down as Alliance Party deputy leader.
Stephen Farry has announced that he will step down as deputy leader of the Alliance Party, after he lost his North Down seat in the general election earlier this year.
The Alliance Party held their annual conference today at the Stormont Hotel, with party leader Naomi Long calling on NI Secretary Chris Heaton-Harris to take charge of Stormont reform.
Alliance’s North Down Association have selected Stephen Farry MP to stand as their candidate for the revised North Down constituency at the next general election.
The DUP say the ball is in the UK government’s court, whilst the SDLP say there can be “no summer recess” in Stormont efforts.
