Assembly Committees
Committees are groups of MLAs that look at specific subjects such as health, education, justice and more. Each committee has members from a range of political parties. The aim of committees is to:
- Hold the Northern Ireland Executive to account
- Hold inquiries
- Ask for the views of the public
- Examine proposed laws and decide on amendments
- Introduce their own bills
